Permanent Supportive Housing

Having a safe place to live doesn’t end when our clients complete CGE.

Many of the women and children who enter our programs come to us either homeless or living in unstable housing. Since having a safe and secure home can significantly increase one’s overall well-being, we saw the importance of providing Permanent Supportive Housing in our continuum of care.

Our Permanent Supportive Housing program supports and preserves families through a respectful, strengths-based approach. Our intensive case management and counseling services provide them with the means to continue in their recovery process; to achieve their goals toward self-sufficiency; and to support the healthy, happy families they desire.

We implemented our permanent supportive housing program over a decade ago.

Thanks to the support of AvalonBay Communities, we created sixteen units of low-income housing at AvalonSomerset (now named The Grove) for CGE mothers and their children. In 2015, a contract from the State of New Jersey enabled us to expand this program even further. Today, we have 26 apartments for at-risk families in Somerset and Middlesex Counties.
