Director of Early Relational Health

Carolyn Flynn, MA, LPC, CD

Carolyn Flynn, MA, LPC, CD is the Director of Early Relational Health at CGE and was vital in the formation and founding of START, our community-based home visitation program with two sites in East Orange and Bridgewater. Carolyn is a mother to three spirited children and enjoys writing, drumming and camping.

Carolyn earned her master’s in counseling from Kean University and is a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey. Her passion for working with pregnant persons began as a certified doula, providing education and support during pregnancy and childbirth since 2006. As a senior trainer at The Institute of CGE, she has presented both locally and internationally on topics including early relational health, trauma-responsive childbirth, and prevention of intergenerational trauma. Carolyn is rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy and trained in Brazelton Touchpoints and Newborn Behavioral Observation. In 2022, she completed the UMASS Infant-Parent Mental Health Post-Graduate Certificate program.
