Only 4% of all programs in the US allow moms to stay with their children during substance use and mental health treatment. We’re proud to be part of that 4%. Our unique relational model goes beyond mothers co-locating with their children during treatment to include dyadic, early relational health therapy to shift intergenerational patterns of trauma and substance use. The women who walk through the doors of the Adult Residential Mommy and Me program are survivors of complex trauma, homelessness, domestic violence, and substance use. Our relationship-based approach integrates substance use and mental health treatment to go beyond treating symptoms to address underlying causes of substance use. Adult Residence Grounded in CGE’s relational recovery model, our approach is crafted to cultivate a safe and nurturing environment, offer trauma-informed care, and encourage empowering relationships supporting each client’s healing journey. Through our Early Relational Health focus, we aim to enhance resilience from pregnancy through a child’s fifth year. Keeping families together by allowing mothers and children to jointly undergo substance use and mental health treatment. Serving women grappling with homelessness, ACEs, and the need for comprehensive substance use and mental health treatment. Creating a safe, nurturing environment for proactive healing through trauma-informed care and empowering relationships. Shifting patterns of intergenerational trauma by nurturing parent-child connection through a strengths-based approach. Designing a tailored treatment plan prioritizing early recovery and mental health recovery with a family-focused approach. Designing and implementing outcomes-based care through our partnership with Rutgers University School of Social Work. Contact Us Today! Graduate, Adult Residential Jaclyn Camporeale, Early Relational Health Specialist Graduate, Adult Residential Program “At the stone ceremony, the staff sits down as a team and picks the stone with a message that they believe fits us… And you know why they can do that? Because they actually pay attention to us. They pay attention to our growth.” “Basically, what they do here for these women is give them an opportunity to heal from their trauma, to heal from their substance use… and still be a mom.” “The whole principle of the Center for Great Expectations and how they treat you and how they view addiction, I hope that that stands out and shines somewhere in this society because we need to bring light to this. It does work.”
We open our doors, and our arms, to pregnant and parenting women and their children up to age 5 who seek treatment for substance use and mental health disorders.
